About Us

Vision. Mission. Learning Objectives.

Our Purpose

AT HOME was started in March 2020, following the national COVID-19 recommendations to avoid gathering in groups. Two social work conferences that had been scheduled for March were canceled or rescheduled, affecting many students and professionals who were planning to attend them. AT HOME was originally conceived as an opportunity for social workers to continue learning while practicing social distancing. However, AT HOME has always been open to people from all backgrounds, as a barrier-free learning opportunity. AT HOME's organizer is Erika Stone-Burnett, a MSW student at the University of Oklahoma. She is a writer for the Black Wall St Times, a member of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission, and the OU Student Government Association Secretary. An OU Foundation scholar, Erika currently works as a research assistant in the Hope Research Center, and plans to complete her social work practicum at the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice. AT HOME welcomes volunteers — and particularly seeks marketing volunteers and others who can reach communities that do not yet know about AT HOME. Contact erika@athomeconference.org
